Rebels seize key-town of Anéfis as rebels tighten grip on northern Mali

According to RFI English, Tuareg separatists and al-Qaeda affiliates appear to have seized control of Anéfis, a key town in northern Mali, after a coordinated offensive launched over the weekend. The rebels moved on Saturday, and Mali's army — alongside Russian mercenaries fighting on its side — has since been holed up in the camp at Anéfis, tightening the rebels' grip on the country's north.
