Climate-smart apartments designed to beat the heat
tech
Recently, while much of France endured a heatwave, some Montpellier residents stayed comfortably cool. According to France 24, their apartments achieve comfort without air conditioning through innovative design. The buildings feature latticework inspired by Middle Eastern architecture to maximize ventilation, and curved facades serving as natural sunshades. The result is impressive: interior temperatures rarely rise above twenty-five degrees Celsius, or roughly seventy-seven degrees Fahrenheit. It's a compelling example of how thoughtful architectural design can outperform energy-hungry cooling systems.
