Discord admits AI moderation bug wrongfully banned users over harmless images

According to TechCrunch, Discord has discovered a significant bug in its AI moderation system. Over the past two months, the system incorrectly banned more than eight thousand users after flagging harmless images as violations—including spreadsheets, chessboards, video game textures, and transparent backgrounds. The company confirmed the issue began in May and is working to resolve it and restore affected accounts.
