tech
According to The Guardian, major Telstra network outages have disrupted large parts of Australia, bringing regional train services to a standstill in Victoria and New South Wales. The acting communications minister warned that a large number of mobile calls and connections have been affected, and the disruption has also reached the country's triple-zero emergency call line. Victoria's V/Line operator blamed a radio network fault for halting its regional trains, with a long list of cancellations and passengers advised to defer travel where possible. The full scope of the outage was still unfolding as authorities worked to restore service.
