Iran accuses US of violating peace agreement after strikes target sites around strait of Hormuz

world

According to The Guardian, Iran has accused the United States of violating the agreement meant to end the war between the two countries. The charge follows US military strikes launched in the early hours of Wednesday at sites around the strait of Hormuz, along with Washington revoking a temporary sanctions waiver that had allowed Tehran to export oil. The US military said the strikes were a response to Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels transiting the strait on Tuesday, which it says breached the ceasefire. Each side, in other words, now accuses the other of breaking the same deal.
