According to The Guardian, a major Telstra outage disrupted emergency services across Australia, with more than three hundred triple-zero emergency calls failing to connect. Telstra attributed the fault to a software glitch. The disruption rippled outward: Victoria's regional V/Line train network ground to a halt after a radio network fault, with a long list of cancelled services and passengers urged to defer travel. Communications minister Anika Wells stressed that people should not make test calls to triple zero while crews work to restore the network.
