According to The Guardian, the fragile ceasefire between the United States and Iran is close to collapse. The paper reports that three commercial vessels were struck and the two militaries targeted each other around the strait of Hormuz. Iran accused Washington of violating the agreement meant to end the war, after the US launched strikes in the area and revoked a temporary sanctions waiver that had let Tehran export oil. Speaking at a NATO summit in Turkey, President Trump said he believed the ceasefire was over, telling reporters the Iranians could keep talking but were, in his words, wasting their time.
