In under three weeks, a builder with no prior hardware experience designed and built a working eight-rotor drone from scratch. According to Adafruit Blog, Karolina Dubiel went from CAD in Fusion three-sixty to a CNC-milled airframe of fiberglass and carbon fiber, complete with hand-soldered electronics. The goal: a reinforcement learning system that keeps the drone flying even when hardware fails.
