Telstra outage: glitches continue as ‘secondary’ outages hit triple-zero calls and regional trains remain stranded

A day after a national mobile network outage in Australia, Telstra says some customers still can't reliably reach emergency services. According to The Guardian, the carrier confirmed a secondary issue stemming from Wednesday's outage was continuing to disrupt triple-zero calls into Thursday morning. Some people trying the emergency hotline received an error message, after which their phones would attempt to connect through an alternative network instead. Telstra described the problem as ongoing glitches following the initial failure, with regional V/Line trains also reported stranded amid the wider network disruption.
