According to The Guardian, at least twelve people have been killed in a wildfire near Los Gallardos in Almeria, in southern Spain. The regional government of Andalusia confirmed the toll after six additional deaths were verified. Around one hundred fifty firefighters were battling the blaze, which broke out as Spain endures a punishing heatwave. Soaring temperatures have triggered orange weather warnings across the region.
