Telstra CEO ‘deeply sorry’ for outage and admits risk of time-keeping failure was known

According to The Guardian, Telstra's chief executive Vicki Brady says she is "deeply sorry" for a network outage this week, and has admitted the company knew of the dangers posed by a failure of its time-keeping systems. Telstra is now investigating why its backup measures failed to prevent the disruption. The apology came as South Australian police said they are investigating whether a death during the outage can be linked to problems calling triple zero, the country's emergency number, though Telstra says it has no record of any failed call from the person's family. Brady faced questioning at her first public appearance since returning from overseas.
