Madonna's biopic with Universal Pictures is officially dead. According to the pop icon, a budget dispute with the studio is to blame. Universal had won a competitive auction back in twenty twenty-one to produce the film, with Madonna attached to co-write and direct. Speaking to Interview magazine, Madonna explained that her life's story demanded a substantial budget—one Universal apparently wasn't willing to provide.
