California's iconic sunflower sea stars are showing signs of recovery. The species nearly disappeared over the past decade due to wasting disease and warming ocean water. But according to Boing Boing, divers recently discovered eighteen of the creatures off the Sonoma County coast—the largest group of wild sunflower sea stars spotted in California waters since a mass die-off began in twenty thirteen.
