Fontainebleau forest near Paris hit by 'virulent' wildfire

France 24 reports that a fast-moving wildfire has scorched roughly eight hundred hectares of the Fontainebleau forest near Paris. The blaze forced partial closures of the A6 motorway during what was already a peak summer holiday travel weekend, compounded by an intense regional heatwave. Firefighting aircraft have been deployed to help crews contain the flames.
