Driver shoots motorist in dispute over gas-station line in Chelyabinsk amid Russia’s fuel crisis
world
A dispute over a gas-station line in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk ended with one driver shooting another using a rubber-bullet pistol, Meduza reports, citing the outlet 74.ru. Witnesses say a man tried to cut the line, was told to wait his turn, and instead opened fire, hitting the victim in the stomach and sending him to the hospital. Police have detained a twenty-six-year-old resident, and prosecutors have opened a battery case that carries up to two years in prison. Meduza notes the confrontation comes amid enormous fuel-station lines across Russia, where arguments and fights, sometimes involving weapons, have been breaking out as a fuel crisis takes hold.
