‘Keys to the kingdom’: hackers who gained access to heart of London transport network jailed

Two British teenagers have been sentenced to five and a half years in prison each for a cyber-attack on Transport for London. The Guardian reports that Thalha Jubair, twenty, and Owen Flowers, nineteen, burrowed deep into TfL's core IT systems between late August and early September of twenty twenty-four—gaining what authorities describe as the keys to the kingdom. The breach cost the transport authority thirty-nine million pounds. TfL warned it could have triggered catastrophic damage and extended service disruption across London's transport network.
