Smoke from wildfires burning in northern Canada is pushing hazardous air into the United States, with Toronto and much of the Northeastern U.S. seeing poor air quality. France 24 reports that Ontario asked the federal government on Thursday for help evacuating people from remote northern communities ravaged by the fires. The network also spoke with Jonathan Boucher, a researcher at the Canadian Forest Service, about what it takes to manage wildfires and make forests more resilient as the climate changes.
