France is in crisis as a deadly heatwave grips the nation. According to France 24, the country recorded its hottest night on June twenty-second. Since June eighteenth, forty people -- many of them young -- have drowned during the heatwave. The crisis has forced school closures and train cancellations nationwide. Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu convened an emergency cabinet meeting on June twenty-third to address the escalating situation.
