Troubling new details emerge on diabetes ouster controversy

Five scientists were ousted from the American Diabetes Association's June annual meeting for distributing an editorial criticizing the Trump administration's attacks on scientific research. Per Ars Technica, deputy editors of the association's journal, Diabetes Care, have since posted their own editorial and seven opinion pieces to a preprint server after the ADA refused to publish them. Troubling new details have emerged: ADA leadership apparently knew in advance and deliberately orchestrated an ambush involving venue security and police.
