Flex Filament Stuck To Your Build Platform? Reach For The Isopropanol
tech
If your flexible 3D prints have welded themselves to your build plate, Hackaday reports a surprisingly simple release trick: isopropyl alcohol. Content creator Angus from Maker's Muse tested the technique and found that applying isopropanol to stuck TPU actually works—the print stays intact and eventually separates, unlike peeling it off directly which typically tears the material or leaves fragments behind. The alcohol works best when it wicks underneath the stuck section, similar to how it removes hot glue from surfaces. The result isn't immediate, but it beats destroying your finished print or abandoning bits of it on the bed.
