Per The Guardian's reporting, a Gilbert, Arizona fire department is honoring a remarkable act of heroism. Fourteen-year-old Royal Cothrun was riding his bicycle in June when he found an elderly woman named Theresa Morgan struggling in one hundred three-degree heat, disoriented and wandering far from her home. Morgan, who has dementia, was carrying a grocery bag and purse through potentially lethal conditions—but Cothrun's quick thinking and compassion intervened. The fire crew is formally recognizing him for saving her life.
