MicroPython developers just got a new tool. Snakie is a clean, cross-platform IDE built by Kevin McAleer specifically for writing and debugging MicroPython code on microcontrollers and single-board computers. Built on Electron, it runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux with automatic updates. According to Adafruit, the editor is designed to be uncluttered and approachable—ideal for tinkerers working with Raspberry Pi Picos, Arduino boards, and other MicroPython-compatible hardware. Installers are available now on the releases page for each platform.
