Two major wildfires rage in Spain as burned area nears 50,000 hectares

Two major wildfires are burning across Spain, pushing the country's scorched land this year toward roughly fifty thousand hectares, Euronews reports. The La Mierla fire in central Spain has torn through nearly nine thousand nine hundred hectares and forced sixteen villages to evacuate. Another fifteen thousand four hundred hectares have burned near Orés in the northeast.
