Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev urged Russia's Vladimir Putin to "freeze" the war in Ukraine during their talks, Meduza reports. Tokayev admitted he doesn't fully understand the conflict, but said he'd received signals from the US and Europe and suggested resurrecting the Istanbul formula two point zero — a diplomatic framework that had made progress in earlier negotiations. "It's heartbreaking that young people are dying," Tokayev said. "All of this has to be stopped," he concluded, noting the war only benefits enemies of both Russia and Ukraine.
