NASA Brings Space Exploration to the FIFA World Cup
science
Per NASA News, the agency transformed FIFA Fan Fest in Houston into a launchpad for space exploration this summer. More than 500,000 World Cup fans explored interactive exhibits showcasing the agency's missions—from the Artemis program and Moon Base to the International Space Station and lunar rover simulators. On June 20th, Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman and Pilot Victor Glover attended as special guests, receiving a standing ovation from more than 67,000 fans before a match at NRG Stadium. NASA also partnered with Adidas to create a demonstration filmed aboard the space station, showing how the physics of motion in space directly mirror the game of soccer. The exhibit concluded in mid-July with remarks from astronaut Mark Vande Hei, bringing NASA's space exploration message to an unprecedented global audience.
