The Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping passage, could soon reopen thanks to emerging negotiations between Iran and Oman, according to The Guardian. Under the developing agreement, vessels would enter the Persian Gulf through an Iranian-controlled route and exit through an Oman-controlled route, with fees charged for security and maritime environmental protection. U.S. Secretary of State Rubio said the administration hopes to reach a deal on the matter very shortly.
