A good Samaritan has died days after being attacked while trying to help a fellow retail worker confront shoplifters in Melbourne's west. Police allege Van Viet Truong was critically injured after rushing to the aid of the worker at a Sunshine shopping strip on Saturday, where a group was allegedly stealing clothes. According to The Guardian, council flags in the area are now flying at half-mast in his honour.
