A second Russian drone manufacturer has been targeted in an assassination attempt within a week. Vladimir Tkachuk, CEO of Uraldronzavod, which makes the Upyr FPV drone used by Russian forces at the front, was critically wounded when his Mercedes exploded on the evening of August fourth in a village near Yekaterinburg, Meduza reports. His driver was killed in the blast. Russian investigators have opened a murder and terrorism case, with a preliminary theory pointing to Ukrainian intelligence, though officials gave conflicting accounts of Tkachuk's condition. It follows a July twenty-ninth shooting in Tula that wounded Andrey Cherezov, chief designer of the rival Ovod drone line.
