Yemen’s Houthis claim responsibility for attack on Saudi oil refinery

world

The Guardian is reporting that Yemen's Tehran-aligned Houthis claimed responsibility for an attack on a Saudi oil refinery early Sunday. The strike came just two days after Saudi Arabia signed a new defence pact with Turkey and Pakistan, announced in response to escalating regional instability stemming from the US-Israel war on Iran. The attack coincides with mounting tensions over reopening the Strait of Hormuz — Iran has issued fresh demands for access, while the UAE reported one of its vessels was targeted by an Iranian missile, with negotiations stalled.
