More than twenty thousand people have fled British Columbia as wildfires spread rapidly, prompting the province to declare a state of emergency, Euronews reports. The fires broke out Friday and nearly doubled in size overnight into Saturday. Euronews adds that national police are investigating a possible death near Summerland, though the casualty has not yet been confirmed.
