Assam: 100 dead in flood-related incidents

Flood-related deaths in Assam have climbed to one hundred, with two more fatalities reported in the past twenty-four hours, according to the state disaster management authority. Nearly one point four lakh people across ten districts have been affected, with Golaghat the hardest hit at around seventy thousand people, followed by Sivasagar and Jorhat. Officials say the Dhansiri and Kushiyara rivers are flowing above the danger mark, and nearly forty-nine thousand one hundred people are currently sheltering in relief camps, Scroll.in reports.
