14 clandestine miners killed in disused South Africa mine

A rockfall at a disused, illegal mine northwest of Johannesburg has killed fourteen clandestine miners, most of them from Lesotho, Africanews reports. Several others were injured, and police say more may still be trapped underground. South Africa's abandoned mines have long drawn unlicensed miners despite the well-documented dangers of unstable, unmonitored shafts.
