Zambia elections haunted by ghost of incumbent president’s arch-rival

Zambians are voting in an election where president Hakainde Hichilema is seeking a second term. Per The Guardian, Hichilema won his office in 2021 after defeating arch-rival Edgar Lungu by landslide. Though Lungu died in 2025, an ongoing feud between Hichilema and his predecessor's family continues to overshadow the race.
