Friday Squid Blogging: Neon Flying Squid

Per Schneier on Security, researchers off the coast of Japan observed a shoal of roughly one hundred neon flying squid rise from the Pacific about three hundred seventy miles from Tokyo. Schneier on Security reports the squid, part of a twenty strong family known for leaping, used a jet of water from a funnel like muscle to glide near the vessel for roughly thirty metres, with their ten limbs splayed outward.
