Stripe Buys OpenRouter for $7B, Anthropic Turns Its First Profit, and Silver Lake Circles Workday at $43B: 20VC x SaaStr

Payment giant Stripe has acquired OpenRouter, a leading large language model routing layer, for approximately seven billion dollars. Per SaaStr, the deal comes just four months after OpenRouter was valued at one point three billion dollars. Stripe is reportedly betting that absorbing the complexity of model selection and API integration will expand its total addressable market.
