Meta reaches $17 billion settlement with US states over social media harm to teens

Meta Platforms has agreed to a seventeen billion dollar settlement to resolve claims from forty-seven U.S. states. As France 24 tells it, state attorneys general alleged the company deceived the public and designed Instagram and Facebook to deliberately make teenagers addicted. In addition to the payment, the company has agreed to implement child-safety measures.
