Soyuz MS-28 departs the ISS, three spacewalks install upgrades to solar arrays and antennae

NASASpaceflight reports that the Soyuz MS‑28 vehicle undocked from the International Space Station on July twenty six, bringing home two Russian cosmonauts and NASA astronaut Chris Williams after a two hundred forty one day stay. In the next three weeks, Expedition seventy five astronauts completed three spacewalks, each lasting roughly six hours, to install new roll‑out solar array power channels and replace a failed space‑to‑ground communications antenna. Those upgrades will increase the station’s power capacity and help sustain critical systems as the orbiting laboratory prepares for its planned deorbit in the 2030s. The next crewed mission, Crew‑13, is scheduled to launch no earlier than September twelfth.
