Independent review announced as police probe if cannibalism involved in four-year-old’s alleged murder

According to The Guardian World, the New South Wales government has announced an independent review of its child protection department after a four-year-old, whose family was known to the department, was allegedly murdered. Police found the child's body at a home on the state's Central Coast, and a woman has since been charged with murder and remanded in custody. Authorities say they are also investigating whether cannibalism was involved in the death.
