White House Wants 1,000 Annual Launches and Reentries by 2030

Payload Space reports that the White House has signed a new National Space Transportation Policy, aiming for more than one thousand launches and reentries annually by twenty thirty. The policy replaces the twenty thirteen version and emphasizes reliable access to orbit, with a focus on expanding launch pads, airspace, and spectrum, and for the first time treats reentry as a national infrastructure priority. It tasks multiple agencies, including NASA, the Defense Department, and the FCC, with supporting commercial space transportation, and sets deadlines for deliverables over the next sixty to two hundred forty days. Meanwhile, Canada and Japan are also updating their own space transportation rules, with Japan recently amending its Space Activities Act to cover rocket test flights and reentry.
