Phys.org reports that Budapest's so‑called "Rock of Starvation" has resurfaced as the Danube basin endures a tightening drought. Researchers at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis say the rock marks a chain of missing rain, parched soils and exceptionally low river flows. Low water levels can disrupt navigation and water supplies downstream.
