Bhutan hosts first ‘conscious food summit’ amid threats to global food systems

world

The Guardian reports that this week the tiny Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan is hosting the world’s first conscious food summit in Paro. Delegates from more than sixty countries, together with United Nations representatives, will gather for five days to discuss how reviving a spiritual relationship with food might help mend a system strained by climate extremes and conflict. Organisers say that beyond economic fixes, a deeper, mindful connection to what we eat could be key to securing future food supplies.
