Per The Hindu (International), a United Nations committee has said countries must consider reparations for the transatlantic slave trade. The Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination notes that at least twelve point five million Africans were taken and sold between the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries, calling it the largest forced displacement in history.
