Severe flooding leaves a trail of death and destruction in West Africa

Severe flooding across West Africa has claimed dozens of lives this week. According to RFI, at least thirteen people have died in Ghana and five in Togo in recent days. The hardest hit is Côte d'Ivoire, where fifty-nine deaths have been recorded since the rainy season began in mid-May. The flooding has affected Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Benin, Togo, and Nigeria, leaving communities facing water damage and displacement.
