Western Europe records its hottest June after searing heatwave

According to France 24, Western Europe just recorded its hottest June ever. The EU's climate monitor said Thursday that an intense heatwave swept across what it calls the world's fastest-warming continent, driven by a so-called heat dome — a high-pressure system that acts like a lid on a boiling pot, trapping heat below. The effect pushed several countries to all-time and monthly temperature records.
