According to The Guardian, a police officer was taken to hospital with a head injury after violent disorder broke out in London on Thursday night, following France's two-nil win over Morocco in a World Cup quarter-final played in Boston. The Metropolitan Police said officers clashed with fans on Edgware Road, where flares were set off and missiles thrown, and that the officer was struck by a glass bottle. Four people were arrested for violent disorder. The Guardian adds that in France, a teenager died while celebrating the team's win.
