Ann Widdecombe, a former Conservative minister known for her Euroscepticism and social conservatism, has died at the age of seventy-eight, according to The Guardian, which cited her management. Widdecombe served as a member of Parliament and later as a member of the European Parliament during a long and often controversial career, and she gained wider fame as a television personality in her later years.
