Police investigating the death of Ann Widdecombe, the former British MP, now believe she was attacked almost twenty-four hours before her body was found, The Guardian reports. Devon and Cornwall officers say they are searching for a suspect believed to be a white male, after a man arrested on Friday was released without charge. Residents of Haytor Vale, where she lived, described Widdecombe as a well-known and opinionated local figure with a great sense of humour, calling her death tragic.
