In Venezuela, families are digging through rubble by hand, searching for loved ones lost when two powerful earthquakes struck seconds apart on June 24. France 24 reports that the coastal state of La Guaira was by far the hardest hit, with entire buildings collapsing in a matter of seconds. Tens of thousands of people remain missing — and weeks after the disaster, organized help has still not arrived, leaving survivors to carry out the search alone.
