The United States has launched a seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iran, The Guardian reports, as fighting escalates over the strait of Hormuz. According to the report, US Central Command said the strikes began at seven p.m. GMT on Friday and were designed to, quote, continue degrading Iranian military capabilities. The strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical oil shipping routes, linking the Persian Gulf to open waters.
